Sales Is the Closest Thing to a Meritocracy in Israel

Forget the degree. The Israeli job market has one career that pays on results instead of credentials, and most people undervalue themselves for it.

hires sellers

There are roughly 2,239 active sales listings in Israel, nearly as many as every software-development role combined. But here's the opinion that matters: sales is one of the only well-paid careers that genuinely does not care about your diploma. It cares whether you can talk to people and close. If that's you, you've been undervaluing yourself.

Why it beats "prestige" jobs

Because much of the pay is commission, a strong seller routinely out-earns salaried roles that took a degree and three years to reach. Your ceiling is set by your results, not your résumé. In a credential-obsessed world, that's rare, and worth chasing.

How I'd climb it

Start on a sales floor or in a call center (מוקד מכירות), prove you can close, then move to account management and B2B/enterprise, where the deals, and commissions, get serious. Fluent English? You can sell into global markets, where the numbers get bigger still.
